At Merrill Builders, we understand that homeownership can be one of the biggest personal investments you make. Having our own family, and living in the homes we’ve built, we understand the importance of functional design, attention to detail, and quality. Our goal is to create a haven for your family that you will love for many years after your home is built. We accomplish this by using our gifts and talents to their fullest and treating those we work with all along the way like we would want to be treated. MEET THE BUILDERS
Lindy Merrill
Owner
A native of Beaumont and the son of a local contractor, Lindy Merrill has always had a passion for construction and design. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M in May of 2002 and was immediately hired by a construction firm in Austin, TX. Two years later, he founded Merrill Builders. He began contracting one home per year and quickly expanded throughout the Southeast Texas area, broadening his portfolio. Since 2004 Lindy Merrill has taken pride in building each house with attention to detail from beginning to end, and in ensuring that all of his homes complement the unique lifestyle of each family. He now resides in Beaumont, TX with his wife and five children, and partners with families to make their visions become reality.
Josh Ruiz
Project Manager
Josh Ruiz, Project Manager with Merrill Builders, has been married to his wife, Joni for 17 years and has two beautiful daughters. Prior to working with Merrill Builders, Josh served for nearly 14 years with Young Life of Southeast Texas, a ministry that works to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with adolescence.
Josh specializes in new residential construction of our homes. He works directly with our clients and sub-contractors to build beautiful high-quality homes in Southeast Texas. Building new homes is fun and exciting, but it is not without its challenges. Josh strives to make that process as stress-free as possible.
When Josh is not on the job, you can find him spending time with his family.
Taylor Williams
Project Manager
Taylor Williams was born and raised in Southeast Texas where he still lives with his wife, Cori, and two incredible daughters. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Fitness Management from Lamar University. After college, Taylor volunteered for Young Life, a ministry dedicated to showing the love of Christ to students. He later would work for Young Life in Mid County for 3 years full-time.
Taylor has worked in construction for many years, from college up until just before he joined the Merrill Builders team. He has a passion for the construction industry and takes pride in whatever project he undertakes. He strives to carry that passion in the new residential housing world and will go above and beyond to produce a product that he can be proud of and a place that our clients are excited to call home.
